Anna Hickey Moody\u2019s project Youth, Religion and Sexuality<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>research project explores race, culture, ethnicity, religion, gender and sexuality in the lives of religious people. Also <\/em>Anna Hickey Moody\u2019s Faith Stories<\/a><\/em><\/strong> is available open access here<\/a>

Anne O’ Brien<\/strong> in a collaboration with the Federation of Irish Sport and funded by Sport Ireland<\/a><\/strong> examines how gendered sports content in media is produced by Irish journalists and how those practices might be changed. Catherine Gander<\/strong>\u00a0led\u00a0the IRC-funded project, Diversifying Irish Poetry (DIP)<\/a><\/strong>. DIP’s strategic partner was Poetry Ireland<\/a>. DIP established a sustainable mentorship programme in Ireland for poetry critics from under-represented, minority ethnic groups whose access to critical culture is hindered by structural racism and migration.\u00a0DIP made real, measurable, positive change to Ireland’s reviewing culture and broader literary landscape by 1) introducing and augmenting the voices of poetry critics of colour across multiple reviewing and related platforms, and 2) augmenting a culture of accountability and awareness in literary publishing, particularly in the region of reviewing cultures, by taking steps to ensure such platforms practise fairness and equity in commissioning and accepting poetry reviews.\u00a0 Please find more information here https:\/\/www.maynoothuniversity.ie\/DIPoetryCritics<\/a>\u00a0and here: https:\/\/www.poetryireland.ie\/news\/launch-of-diversifying-irish-poetry-poetry-critics-of-colour-in-ireland<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gavan Titley <\/strong>is a Co-Investigator on the ERC funded Resist Project<\/a>,<\/strong> which examines the formation of \u2018anti-gender\u2019 politics in Europe, its impacts, and how it is being resisted. Jennifer Redmond is <\/strong>a member of the Motherhood Project <\/strong><\/a>which is leading the way in examining cultural representations of motherhood and the way that mothers are depicted in popular culture, film, literature and the media. Jennifer Redmond is also Chair of the COST Action HIDDEN<\/a><\/strong>. The History of Identity Documentation in European Nations (HIDDEN) network<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0unites scholars in history, migration studies, geography, sociology, law, linguistics, postcolonial studies, human rights and more to look at the history of ID regimes in Europe and beyond, drawing connections between the past and present. In the context of UN Sustainable Development Goal 16.9 that everyone should have a legal identity by 2030, and the rise of new forms of biometric digital ID, such as the Covid-19 vaccination certificates. Liam MacAmhlaigh\u2019s <\/strong>project entitled Portr\u00e1id\u00ed na Scr\u00edbhneoir\u00ed Gaeilge Portraits of Irish-Language Writers<\/em><\/a><\/strong> is a living collection of portraits that celebrate the Irish-language writer, based on the pioneering work of M\u00e1ire U\u00ed Mhaic\u00edn<\/a>. There are 190 writers in the current archive; added to annually.  This curated collection shares a new lens for biographical research celebrating the humanity of all types of contemporary writers, and all genres of writing within the Irish-language. Patricia Kennon<\/strong> is editor of a special issue of Irish Studies Review<\/strong><\/a><\/em>\u00a0on representation, race, and ethnicity in Irish children\u2019s and young-adult literature (May 2025). This will be the first-ever full-length scholarly publication on this area and will constitute a pioneering contribution to this under-researched and under-theorised area in Irish Studies, Irish youth-literature studies, and inclusive publishing. Rita Sakr<\/strong> is the MU Lead on the EU-funded multi-university (lead university, University of Malta) Cooperation Partnership in Higher Education programme \u2018Re-visiting the Mediterranean: Literature, Culture, Environment’, 2024-26. She was Senior Co-Investigator, with Prof Sinead McGilloway (Principal Investigator), on the QFI-funded research programme, SALaM-Ireland (2020-24) <\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
